Colonel Briers, 2nd level Needle Building, Port Atlantis

Good morning, Colonist.  Can you spare a moment?

Choices:

• Sure, what is it ?
• Afraid not.  I have other things to do.

I'm Colonel Briers, CDF, and I would like to hire civilian contractors for some jobs.

Choices:

• CDF? What's that?
• What kind of job?

If you choose 'CDF? What's that?':

Calypso Defence Force.  Its the small but proud branch of the Federal Imperial Armed Forces that defends Calypso.  We have a long history, all the way back from the First Robot War when we were formed by stranded colonists.

 

Anyway, I'm not here to teach history, but to hire contractors.  Are you interested?

Good, <Avatar Name>.  This is an investigation assignment.  A few nights ago, several small objects impacted the ground in three groups.  The group I'm interested in impacted east of here, near the area charred by forest fire.  What I want you to do is to go there, examine the objects, and then report back to me.

Choices:

• Sure I will do it.
• Do you know what these objects are?
• Thanks but no.

If you choose 'Do you know what these objects are?':

No. Eyewitness reports indicate that they are manufactured and there are rumors of Robot origin.  The rumors are not unsubstantiated, especially since their impact corresponds to the recent development in the Hadesheim crater.

 

But the point is that we dont know, and thats why we are hiring you to find out.  We want facts about these objects.

On finding all objects:

These objects are not meteorites.  They are definately manufactured and make to survive a fall from orbit, but you can't tell the origin of them.  You think that they fell from a northerly direction.

 

Perhaps they're some kind of military drop pod that the Federal Imperial Navy 'forgot' to tell you about.
